Having a partner makes it easier to hold both yourself and your friend accountable. The best part about exercising with a friend is you both motivate each other too. Make a game out of it and see who can lose more and set a date.
Also, don’t feel like you need to join some big, expensive gym in order to work out. Going to the park or walking in the neighborhood can be just as beneficial. If you do feel like working out at a gym would be more motivational (because you’re paying for a membership), try different classes the gym offers to find something you’re interested in. Again, a partner helps to encourage going to the class and keeping you on track. Make sure you drink lots of water to stay hydrated!
