I’ve heard this line many times. The simple answer is any pain is a sign from your body that something is wrong and needs to be fixed. So fix it.
The slightly longer answer is easily understood once one understands the basics for chiropractic.
The problem occurs when a joint loses its full range of motion, like say from being hit in a car accident or spending too much time slumped over the computer. When the joint has lost its full range of motion toxins and swelling build up at the joint. These toxins and swelling pinches the nerve. If the pinched nerve is responsible for feeling pain, you feel pain. If the pinched nerve is responsible for hearing, you hear tinnitus. If the pinched nerve is responsible for controlling the rhythm of your beating heart, your heart goes too fast or too slow. Etc…
So now that you know WHY you should get adjusted, HOW does the adjustment work? The ONLY thing your chiropractor does with a chiropractic adjustment is to restore the range of motion to the joint. That’s it. Your body takes over from there, dissipating the toxins and swelling and healing the damaged nerve.
So get adjusted. And feel better.
