Ear Infections and Chiropractic

Ear pain is the number one reason children make their initial visit to a chiropractor. There appears to be a strong link between the birthing process and recurrent ear infection, also known as otitis media. During the birthing process, vertebrae in the neck can become misaligned. Births that are assisted by forceps, vacuum and C-section are especially susceptible. The misaligned vertebrae disrupt nerve function, which can affect the eustachian tube. This can lead to fluid buildup in the middle ear and cause otitis media.

Ear infections account for over 35% of all pediatrician visits in the United States. The usual treatment, antibiotics, is not always effective and may even lead to a recurrence of ear infections. Many children deal with a continuing cycle of repeat ear infections, which lands them back at the pediatrician for more antibiotics. For nearly 100 years, chiropractors have had patients suffering ear and other upper respiratory infections respond favorably with chiropractic adjustments.

We absolutely love and adore the children that we are honored to care for at our office.  The majority of them literally run into the adjusting room to receive their adjustment. I strongly feel that whether a patient is young or old, a healthy spine is one of THE most important things a person can have to insure good health.
